No one responds to nature like kids. Learning botany can be much more fun when paired with learning about medicinal and edible plants.
Classes for kids last about 2
hours. Having experience with many different groups of
children during the summer of 2011, it has become clear
that children want to know about plants. The more they
interact with nature, the more they want to know. At the
Farm, there are so many ways to connect with our planet,
and that seems to energize and feed children so that most
respond in an enormously positive way. Chidren are free to
ask any questions they want, are not rushed from plant to
plant and are invited to participate in a "tea" with
snacks from nature and an art activity that incorporates
what they have learned.
Classes are held the first Wednesday of each
month: May, June, July and August from 4pm-6pm Ages 6 and
up
at Philadelphia Farm, in Osceola, WI. Contact Kelley for
registration.
$10.00 each.
